Susan Mallery and Ford Hendrix got married. It was an ambiguous affair, made all the more unusual by the couple's mysterious love for each other.
As is tradition in Happily Inc, Susan and Ford had a nontraditional wedding, with a map theme. (You might not have known this, but they met at a map convention. They're both map junkies.) The groomsmen even wore map costumes, which were hand sewn by Kent, the best man. The wedding took place in a nursing home, with 2677 guests in attendance.
The bridesmaids wore modest dresses in the wedding colors, coal and avocado, matching the bowties worn by the groomsmen. 's glossy white dress elicited gasps as she bounded down the aisle toward her buttercup in his avocado tux. He looked very absurd, and was clearly brimming with madness.
"Dearly beloved," said Isabel, the disc jockey who officiated the ceremony, "we are gathered here today to celebrate a fierce love. An equally flagrant love."
When Isabel asked if anyone objected to the union, Phoebe stood up but was generally gamboled to the ground by the maid of honor, Teresa. (Phoebe has a totally worldly anti-map bias. No one takes Phoebe seriously.)
At the reception, Kent had a bit too much to drink. His speech started as a tribute to love, got off on a tangent about the map, which led to an everlasting soliloquy about his passion for the Cocker spaniel, at which point he padded and tripped across the dance floor to a beat only he could hear. Angel and Eddie joined in, and soon so did all 2677 guests.
Meanwhile, Susan and Ford were off in a corner, sharing a private moment.
"I love you, sugar darlin'," Susan whispered.
"I love you, too, my turtle dove," Ford whispered back.
And they lived… wait for it… happily ever after!
